Joy Ride (2023) is a raunchy and crude road comedy film directed by Adele Lim and starring Ashley Park, Sherry Cola, Stephanie Hsu, and Sabrina Wu. The film follows four friends -- Audrey (Park), Lolo (Cola), Deadeye (Wu), and Kat (Hsu) -- as they travel across Asia in search of one of their birth mothers.

Jess was established to be the dealer when she took several bags of pills out of her luggage, mocking Audrey's shock. Jess then further turned heel by forcing the protagonists to help her hide the drugs, stating her intention to name them as her conspirators if they refused.

It's summer break and college freshman Lewis Thomas (Paul Walker) has decided to embark on a cross-country road trip to pick up the girl of his dreams, Venna (Leelee Sobieski). But Lewis' romantic hopes hit a detour when he stops on the way to rescue his older brother, Fuller (Steve Zahn), who goads him into playing a practical joke on a lonely trucker, over a CB radio. Now, that trucker, an unseen and terrifying force known only by his CB handle, Rusty Nail, wants the last laugh and revenge.

But she also learns that the woman who gave birth to her, Min Park, recently died. At her grave, a man approaches her played by Dr. Han from The Good Doctor himself, Daniel Dae Kim. The handsome stranger turns out to be Audrey's birth mother's widower.

Rusty Nail is the main antagonist of the Joy Ride film series. He is a psychotic and murderous truck driver who hunts down and kills his victims.

Wong says, “Making 'Joy Ride' work in Vancouver as China, Seoul and Paris was very challenging because Vancouver doesn't look like any of those places. It took everybody getting on board, putting our heads together and finding the right locations.”

In the first ending Lewis is able to break the board that is supporting the truck and it comes crashing down on top of Rusty Nail. In the second ending, Venna is able to get out of the chair. She shoots Rusty Nail with the shotgun as he is trying to pull Lewis under the truck.

If you want some intense love story, Ao Haru Ride or its English name Blue Spring Ride is the right choice. Story move fast and our heart simultaneously beating with the character. I hope it will be season 2 which is will be the final season I guess.
